Apple’s 3D Touch video reveals the reduced battery capacity of the iPhone 6S. Information from Adobe confirms 2GB RAM for iPhones and 4GB for iPad Pro.
As usual, Apple didn’t tell a whole lot of exact specifications of their devices at the September 9 keynote. Luckily different sources are providing information about the specs before the devices have even come available for customers.
Apple’s official 3D Touch video reveals the battery capacity of the iPhone 6S. The added haptic feedback module reduces the physical size of the battery. The technology hasn’t improved enough to keep the battery capacity and the new battery is 95mAh smaller than the one in the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6S now has a 1715mAh battery compared to a 1810mAh juicer in the last year model. Most likely the iPhone 6S Plus also has smaller battery than the iPhone 6 Plus.
An Adobe worker has revealed that the new iPhones have 2GB of RAM. The information is from an internal Apple website and it’s been shared to Reddit. Apple didn’t mention the RAM size in the keynote but it’s understandable because the 100% growth to last year would have looked hideous as everyone knows that the iPhone 6 and 6S had 1GB of RAM.
Adobe has also revealed the amount of RAM in the iPad Pro. The company released an article introducing the features of the new iPad Pro and confirmed the 4GB of RAM. The statement has now been modified but the link is still down below.
The iPhone 6S is the third flagship this year to reduce the battery capacity compared to last year. The development is alarming because most users want more battery life. Most the people commenting online demand better battery life even in the cost of a thicker phone. Still smartphone manufacturers are making the devices thinner. Motorola has probably understood this with their Moto X Play and the upcoming Moto X Force. Hopefully more manufacturers are taking the note.
Apple finally got the second gigabyte of RAM. Previously it’s been a struggle to even keep tabs loaded in the browser and still customer satisfactory has been ridiculously high. Next year the customer satisfactory percent might be over 100.

Apple has just released their new iPhone lineup. Unsurprisingly the new models are called iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
IPhone 6S brings some new features but most things stay the same. The display size stays the same at 4.7″ but it’s now pressure sensitive. The 6S Plus also keeps the screen size and resolution but adds the pressure sensitivity. Both models grow up in size because of the new stronger aluminium used in their chassis and the added thickness comes from the pressure sensitive module.
The processor is updated to the new 64-bit A9. Cameras are now 12 and 5 megapixels. Apple finally adds the 4K video recording to the main camera and the 1080p FaceTime video for the front facing camera. Both models now have optical image stabilization. The display now acts as a flash for the front facing camera. Live Photos capture a little video every with every photo and the feature is on out of the box.
The new iPhones include the new TouchID 2 that is mentioned to be faster than the previous model. The M9 motion co-processor is now used to power the always-on “Hey Siri” feature to communicate with Siri without touching the device.
Force Touch is renamed as 3D Touch that gives shortcuts and tries to change the way we use the smartphone. The 3D Touch creates shortcuts to the home screen. Long pressing an icon gives options to frequently used actions in that app. Most of the default apps also support the 3D Touch in many different ways.
The new Rose Gold color option is added to the usual lineup of colors. The prices and storage sizes stay the same and the last year models get a $100 price drop. The new iPhones will be available on September 25.
IPhone 6S launch is just a few weeks away and we are starting to hear some serious leaks and rumors. We have collected the latest rumors and leaks together.
Apple has already sent press invitations to an event on September 9. We know that the new iPhones will be released there but as always with the S-model, we don’t know much about the changes Apple is going to do. Previously we have had leaked benchmarks and some dummy units confirming that the design will not change. Now as the production has started, have have got a lot of leaks.
Case maker Spigen has updated their front page to have some rose gold iPhone 6S cases. This pretty much confirms the rumors about the new color. The rose gold is not real gold like Apple uses in the Apple Watch but painted aluminium.
9to5Mac has got their hands on an iPhone 6S display assembly which confirms the Force Touch module and a better 5MP front facing camera. The FaceTime camera will also support 720p slow motion video. What the front panel doesn’t confirm is the front facing flash. Apple has added support for the front flash in their iOS 9 code but seemingly it’s not making its way to the new iPhone 6S. It might however be that the 6S Plus would have it because we are yet to see leaked photos about it.
The main camera will see an upgrade from 8MP to 12MP. We are not sure about the pixel size or aperture but iPhones have been great cameras since the iPhone 4, so we can expect a great shooter again. Apple is also stepping up their game in video recording side. The new iPhones will be able to shoot 4K video.

Apple has announced the September 9 iPhone event. The new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are expected.
The press invitations are sent with the text “Hey Siri, give us a hint”. We already know that the new iPhones are not bringing anything extraordinary, so the text might hint us about the Apple TV getting Siri support. It’s not excluded that Apple might bring some kind of home assistant box but it’s unlikely as we don’t have any rumors or leaks supporting that.
The upcoming iPhones are rumored to keep the same design with just a little thicker form factor to get the Force Touch feature fitted in. The camera is also going to be improved from 8 megapixels to 12. We will keep you up to date as the event happens.
