LG has updated the Watch Urbane. The 2nd generation Urbane has 4G and 3G capabilities and relatively large battery.

LG has released the updated the Watch Urbane. It is the first Android Wear watch to feature cellular connectivity. Phone calls can now be received directly from the watch and the device doesn’t need to be connected to a phone.

The body of the watch is made out of stainless steel and the hypoallergenic elastomer band holds part of the electronics inside and therefore isn’t replaceable. The circular 1.38″ P-OLED display features a resolution of 480 x 480. The typical Android Wear specs sheet wasn’t enough for LG. The new Urbane has 768MB of RAM and a relatively large 570mAh battery. Other features are familiar, Snapdragon 400 and 4GB of storage.

The 2nd generation Watch Urbane is officially called the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. It will be available in four colors, Space Black, Opal Blue, Luxe White and Signature Brown. Pricing and launch date are unknown.

LG V10 goes official with two displays

lg-v10

LG has officially announced the rumored V10 smartphone. It shares a lot of specs with the G4 but has two displays and two front facing cameras.

LG V10 has been rumored and leaked for a while but now the device goes official. It’s the premium smartphone LG teased earlier. Gone is the plastic design of the G4 as the V10 body is made out of stainless steel and silicone.

The tech specs are very similar to the G4 with a QHD display, Snapdragon 808 SoC, 16MP rear camera and the removable 3000mAh battery. However the display is now 5.7″ and there’s an extra gigabyte of RAM for 4GB total. Also, there’s the second display, a small always-on stripe above the main display.

The second display shows relevant information and acts as a shortcut panel. When the main display is off, the smaller display shows time, weather and battery information. When the main display is on, the second display shows shortcuts to apps, contacts and notifications.

The second special thing on the front side of the device is the dual front facing camera. Both cameras have 5 megapixels but different angles. One is for very wide angle selfies or “groufies” with the 120° lens and the second has more mainstream 80° lens.

The V10 will be available in Korea this month but availability in other markets is unknown. There’s five color options, black, white, beige, navy blue and baby blue. All V10 phones have 64GB of storage with microSD support.

nexus-6p-colors

This year’s Nexus event is getting closer and we are hearing even more rumors and leaks. The latest leak is about the colors of the new Nexus devices.

The Huawei built premium Nexus, the 6P has its metal body available in four colors, aluminium, black, white and gold. The difference between aluminium and white is really minor but most likely the colors will be different in real life. Other rumors still claim 5.7″ QHD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC and a great camera.

The more affordable, LG made Nexus 5X has a more understated plastic design and with it, plastic colors. The usual black and white have an “ice blue” color alongside them. In the rendered image, the color looks more like green but again, it has to be seen in real life.

The Nexus 5X is rumored to feature a 5.2″ Full HD display, 600-series Snapdragon SoC and a very affordable price tag. Google is expected to release the new Nexus phones on 29 September.

LG teases a smartphone releasing on 21 September

lg-class-2

LG has teased a new smartphone that is going to be released on 21 September. The device features a metallic design and it’s called LG Class.

LG Electronics has released a photo of a new smartphone in Twitter. The device looks different than the previous leaks of the LG V10 so we are pretty sure this is a different phone.

lg-class-1

The photo above shows an advertisement banner for the device and reveals the name, Class. We have very little information about the device at the moment but we will keep you posted as the release happens on 21 September.

LG is expected to release the previously rumored V10 on 1 October. The V10 is rumored to feature very similar specification to the LG G4. LG has previously teased a ‘super flagship’ coming later this year and the V10 doesn’t meet the expectations we have after that kind of statement. So, the Class might be it.

LG sends invitations for October 1 event

lg-g4-leather

LG is expected to release a new flagship Android phone and wearables. The LG V10 might bring G4 features in a larger footprint.

LG has announced an event to happen on October 1. The Korean company is expected to introduce the flagship smartphone that the company CEO teased a while ago. We might also get some new wearables as the LG Watch Urbane is already rather old.

lg-october-1

The event invitation tips for the video capabilities of the new flagship. The previously rumored and teased LG V10 is going to feature mostly the same specifications with the current flagship G4 but with a bigger screen. The rear camera is going to stay the same but the front shooter is going to see a downgrade from 8 to 5 megapixels. That would suggest that LG is preparing some great video recording capabilities and even better display for better viewing experience.

When it comes to wearables, LG is one of the manufacturers that can make the difference. LG has a great record in battery life in their smartphones, so they might be the one to figure out the battery life in smartwatches. LG Watch Urbane just got a new gold variant at IFA 2015 but the standard model is starting to feel a little old as the new competitors appear.
