Galaxy S7 will be released on 21 February

Samsung Galaxy S7 press renders have leaked with a probable release date of the devices.

EvLeaks has leaked press render images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphones. In the images, the date is February 21 which of course means the release date. EvLeaks has been very reliable source, so these renders are probably real.

In the image there are two phones. The one on the left is the normal Galaxy S7 with 5.1″ QHD display and the one on the right is probably going to be called Galaxy S7 edge and it will have a 5.5″ curved QHD display.

Other specifications we know are the two SoC options for different markets, Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890. The amount of RAM will be 4GB and the battery capacities will grow to 3000mAh and 3600mAh respectively.

The 12MP Britecell rear camera is joined by a 5MP shooter on the front. The rear camera hump will be gone as the new Britecell sensor improves the low light capabilities and reduces the thickness of the module.

Nexus 6P leaks suggest AMOLED display and a big battery

As we are getting closer to the official release, the Nexus 6P has started leaking even more. Now we have a complete slide show presentation about the bigger Nexus.

The full presentation, linked below, reveals almost everything we want to know about the upcoming Nexus 6P. Previously rumored 5.7″ QHD display and a Snapdragon 810 are confirmed and the impressive battery capacity, 3450mAh, is also leaked. USB Type-C and dual front facing speakers are also included as well as the storage and color options. The storage capacity options are 32, 64 and 128GB and the colors are the same that were leaked previously, white, aluminium, gold and black.

We were still missing some features but the rest of the presentation was uploaded to Google Drive. An AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and 12/8MP cameras were leaked. Also the physical size of the device was included in the slides. The 6P measures at 159.4 x 77.8 x 7.3mm, slightly narrower and thinner than the Nexus 6 but the same in height.

All we are now missing is the price. The Nexus 5X will be the more affordable one but Google should have learned from last year, the Nexus 6 was just too expensive for some. The Nexus event is supposed to happen tomorrow and we will keep you posted.

Latest leaks reveal Nexus color options

This year’s Nexus event is getting closer and we are hearing even more rumors and leaks. The latest leak is about the colors of the new Nexus devices.

The Huawei built premium Nexus, the 6P has its metal body available in four colors, aluminium, black, white and gold. The difference between aluminium and white is really minor but most likely the colors will be different in real life. Other rumors still claim 5.7″ QHD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC and a great camera.

The more affordable, LG made Nexus 5X has a more understated plastic design and with it, plastic colors. The usual black and white have an “ice blue” color alongside them. In the rendered image, the color looks more like green but again, it has to be seen in real life.

The Nexus 5X is rumored to feature a 5.2″ Full HD display, 600-series Snapdragon SoC and a very affordable price tag. Google is expected to release the new Nexus phones on 29 September.

New Motorola Flagship Leaked

Motorola flagships have barely launched as we get leaks about a new Moto flagship. The Motorola Bounce is mentioned to be shatterproof.

Motorola just updated their Moto lineup with X Style, X Play and G and we already have new leaks. Upleaks has posted the rendered image above to Twitter with possible specifications. The new device is called Bounce for now, we don’t know if it is the final name.

Bounce will pack a 5.43″ QHD 1440p display, Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of storage. Battery is going to be huge like in the Moto X Play, 3760mAh. Cameras are going to be the same found in X Style and in X Play, 21 and 5MP.

Possibly the most interesting feature Upleaks mentioned in the Twitter post is the shatterproof design. The name Bounce and the image would also suggest that the device would have some rubber around it to prevent damage. Still the most fragile part is the display so we are interested to see what the Bounce has to offer to protect its screen.

According to Upleaks, the Motorola Bounce will launch in December. With its features it’ll compete with Samsung’s Active models and Sony’s waterproof flagships. It’s not competing with the more jewelry like iPhones or Samsungs.

iPhone 6S Rumor Package

IPhone 6S launch is just a few weeks away and we are starting to hear some serious leaks and rumors. We have collected the latest rumors and leaks together.

Apple has already sent press invitations to an event on September 9. We know that the new iPhones will be released there but as always with the S-model, we don’t know much about the changes Apple is going to do. Previously we have had leaked benchmarks and some dummy units confirming that the design will not change. Now as the production has started, have have got a lot of leaks.

Case maker Spigen has updated their front page to have some rose gold iPhone 6S cases. This pretty much confirms the rumors about the new color. The rose gold is not real gold like Apple uses in the Apple Watch but painted aluminium.

9to5Mac has got their hands on an iPhone 6S display assembly which confirms the Force Touch module and a better 5MP front facing camera. The FaceTime camera will also support 720p slow motion video. What the front panel doesn’t confirm is the front facing flash. Apple has added support for the front flash in their iOS 9 code but seemingly it’s not making its way to the new iPhone 6S. It might however be that the 6S Plus would have it because we are yet to see leaked photos about it.

The main camera will see an upgrade from 8MP to 12MP. We are not sure about the pixel size or aperture but iPhones have been great cameras since the iPhone 4, so we can expect a great shooter again. Apple is also stepping up their game in video recording side. The new iPhones will be able to shoot 4K video.

The New Moto 360 Appears in Photos

One of the most anticipated wearables of the year is the new Moto 360. Now the beautiful smartwatch shows up in leaked images.

Motorola Moto 360 was one of the best Android Wear devices last year. Its successor has been rumored for a while now and we were a little disappointed with Motorola not revealing the device with the new Moto phones a few weeks ago.

The new Moto 360 appears to come in two sizes, 360L and 360S. In the photo above, the smaller Moto 360S is joined by the old Moto 360. The larger 360L will be the same size as the current 360. The hardware button has been moved higher to the right side to prevent misclicking the button.

Unfortunately for some, Motorola has not been able to remove the “flat tire” from the bottom edge. To keep the bezels as thin, the digitizer needs to be placed in that little black area below the display.

The new smartwatches are expected to be released in IFA next week.

A Load of CPU Benchmarks Leaked

Since Apple switched to 64-bit processors in their mobile devices, the media has loved to compare their CPU-only performance to others with Geekbench benchmark. Nowadays Geekbench is the place we get the first clue about future device’s performance.

Now there’s three new interesting Geekbench leaks out. First there is an image from MyDrivers that shows Apple’s new A9 chip’s performance. The A9 chip is going to power the upcoming iPhone 6S. According to the leak, the A9 is a tri-core CPU clocked at 1.51GHz. It scores a respectable 1811 in the single core test and a more modest 4577 in the multi core test. The result puts it in par with Samsung’s current flagship CPU, Exynos 7420 that scores a little lower in the single core test but reaches ahead in the multi core benchmark. The leaked benchmark also confirms that iPhones are finally getting a second gigabyte of RAM.

The second leak was about LG’s own chip. After problems with the overheating Snapdragon 810 and a compromise with the flagship G4 only packing a Snapdragon 808, LG is reportedly working on its own SoC. The chip is called NUCLUN and it packs four high speed Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.1GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at  1.5GHz.

The Geekbench scores reveal the NUCLUN comfortably beating the Exynos 7420 of the Samsung Galaxy S6. The single core result is comparable to iPhone 6S’s leaked result but in multi core test NUCLUN beats even the Exynos chip by a noticeable margin. It’s still unclear where the NUCLUN will debut. Nexus phones have featured Snapdragon SoCs since the Nexus 4, so the chip is unlikely going to the 2015 Nexus 5.

The last interesting benchmark leak is about Samsung’s Exynos M1 Mongoose CPU. A Chinese website Weibo has leaked Geekbench results of the upcoming Samsung chip. The results are impressive. Apple A9, LG NUCLUN and Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 are left well behind as the Mongoose scores 2136 in the single core test and 7497 in the multi core test. Sammobile also reports that the new Mongoose beats the Exynos 7420 even in power saving mode. The results are so high, because Samsung is not using the stock Cortex cores. The cores of the Mongoose are modified by Samsung the way Apple does with their chips and the optimization brings better results.

While the Apple A9 results were as impressive as expected, LG building their own chip and Samsung crushing the benchmark records were a little surprising. It’s really interesting to see where the LG NUCLUN debuts and can the upcoming Snapdragon 820 respond to the Samsung’s Exynos M1 Mongoose.
