Samsung has launched new Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 mid-rangers. The updates are significant as the phones get nearly flagship specifications.
Samsung’s metal body A series has done strongly and now they get their first refresh. The highest-end A7 packs a 5.5″ 1080p Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and a 3300mAh battery. The 13 megapixel rear camera is optically stabilized and the home button has the fingerprint scanner from the S6. The only weaker part of the package is the yet to be named 1.6GHz octa core CPU.
The A5 packs mostly the same specs with just a smaller 5.2″ 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and 2900mAh battery. The A3 gives up more as the OIS and the fingerprint scanner are dropped. A3 has 4.7″ 720p Super AMOLED display, 1.5GB of RAM, 1.5GHz quad core CPU and 2300mAh battery.
All the models are made out of metal and glass and packed into a 7.3mm thick body. The devices will hit the market first in China in mid December and global sales start later. The pricing is still a question but we expect much lower prices than the flagship S6 devices.
